Mrs. Henderson is the Founder and Director of the Resource Initiatives Giving Hope through Training (RIGHT) Foundation. In 1995, the Foundation became a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity which focuses on increasing awareness and further preventing the spread of chronic degenerative diseases namely HIV/AIDS through training and resource development.nt.

Mrs. Henderson possess over 25 years of experience in the field of human services. She completed her undergraduate studies in Business Administration at LaSalle College, her Masters in Human Services at Lincoln University, and a second Masters in the Dynamics of Organizations at the University of Pennsylvania. She has written articles for the “National Association of Rehabilitation Professionals Quarterly Magazine”, The National “Continue Care Coordinator” Magazine, and the local newsletter, “The Proclamation”. She has been a presenter and panelist for the North Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Philadelphia’s City Council; and internationally, the Department of Health in Dakar, Senegal, and the Ministry of Health in Accra, Ghana; just to name a few. Her training experience includes: Clergy Crisis Intervention Training for the Empowerment Link; Life Skills training workshops for the Private Industry Council; a Diversity Training Workshop for the United States Postal Service; and a workshop presentation in Cross-Cultural Communications for the National Minority AIDS Conference held in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Henderson advocates for faith-based institutions to become involved in the HIV/AIDS pandemic by providing workshops for Pastors and parishioners. During year 2001, she served as Philadelphia’s Chairperson for the “The Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS.” The RIGHT Foundation became a certified partner with the internationally known “Balm in Gilead”, New York, NY; the founding agency of the week of prayer.



BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

The RIGHT Foundation accomplishments are as follows:

Since 1996 to present, RIGHT has been a partner with Wharton School University of Pennsylvania’s Management 100 class, to provide 12 students for the fall semester of every year to do a prevention education program in the area of HIV/AIDS. The RIGHT Foundation’s Wharton class won first prize for the following years, 1998, 2001, and 2003.
Prizes were based on numbers reached, theme and content of message. High Schools that received intervention services were Benjamin Franklin, Edison, Northeast High, and Bartram. The goal was to have at least 300 students in attendance to the events. The students involved in the project during the years mentioned above exceeded their goal.

1996 The City of Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce under their International consulting and trade initiative sponsored Mrs. Henderson to provide consulting services to the Ministers of Health on the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Dakar Senegal.

1997 The RIGHT Foundation won the NAACP Aware for Community Service Excellence.

1999 The RIGHT Foundation’s Wharton students produce there first public service announcement. This was a 30 second announcement featuring Mrs. Henderson and former Mayor Ed Rendell. The PSA aired on channel 29 for a week during hours of 12 midnight to 6:00 am.

1999 The City of Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce under their
International consulting and trade initiative sponsored Mrs. Henderson to provide consulting services to the Ministers of Health on the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Accra Ghana.

2001 The RIGHT Foundation became a partner with the Balm in Gilead, the flagship project for the Black Church Week for the Healing of AIDS. It is an
international project based out of New York City. RIGHT became the first agency to bring the project to Philadelphia as a partner for a citywide project. RIGHT and The Deliverance Evangelist Church, one of the largest churches on the East Coast presented an event that touched the hearts of many consumers and brought widespread awareness to the communities in the city of Philadelphia. The ceremony was opened by Mayor John Street’s Managing Director.

2002 The RIGHT Foundation had its first awards breakfast. This year
The Foundation celebrated serving over 22,000 consumers in prevention education, 1680 individuals for case management and 232 families for crisis intervention over the last six years. RIGHT received citations from the Mayor’s office and City Council.

2004 The RIGHT Foundation had its Portrait of Pride Dinner at the
Hilton Hotel. They were presented an award in community excellence by a community group called the Williams Angels. Among the awardees was W. Wilson Goode, the first Mayor to bring awareness to City government by opening the Aids Activities Coordinating office in the city of Philadelphia; Camara Jordan, United Way of Southeastern PA; Michael London, Wharton, University of PA, and Todd Feldman, Feldman Realty.
